Zachary Community School District operates four elementary schools in a grade cluster configuration — Zachary Early Learning Center (PreK), Northwestern Elementary (K-1st), Zachary Elementary (2nd-3rd), and Copper Mill Elementary (4th-5th). An extensive PreKindergarten program provides our students with a strong foundation. Teachers then build upon this with a rigorous curriculum that challenges students to develop critical thinking skills while providing them with meaningful opportunities for hands-on exploration.

Northwestern Middle School houses students in grades 6-8 and operates under the teaming concept. The school offers innovative opportunities for student growth including forensics, robotics, and Odyssey of the Mind courses. A culture of learning and an academic
atmosphere fill the halls providing students with order and structure during their adolescent years.

Zachary High School serves students in grades 9-12. Learners are engaged by diverse course offerings as they prepare for their post-secondary futures. The Ninth Grade Academy is located in Foundation Hall and provides students with a successful transition to the high school environment. The school offers many positive behavior incentives including the Renaissance Program and Hard Work Cafe. Zachary High works in conjunction with the district’s alternative school, Port Hudson Career Academy, to provide the best education options for all students.
The Zachary Community School District demonstrates a commitment to educating the whole child by providing a diverse, well-rounded curriculum. Students are exposed to the arts and have opportunities to participate in competitive athletic programs beginning at the middle school level. Students begin their study of foreign languages in kindergarten, and have weekly art and music classes as well.
Our state-of-the-art athletic facilities include new gymnasiums, an artificial turf football field and a strength and conditioning room in our Academic Athletic Center. These facilities offer our students a chance to excel on the fields of competition.
